Social Skills Building

Social skills building in therapy is a structured process that helps individuals learn, practice, and improve the skills needed to interact effectively with others. It is commonly used with children, adolescents, and adults who experience difficulties with communication, relationships, autism, ADHD, anxiety, or other social challenges.

Key Goals

  • Improve communication with others

  • Develop friendships and maintain relationships

  • Increase confidence in social situations

  • Understand social cues and expectations

  • Reduce social anxiety and misunderstandings

Executive Functioning Skills

Executive functioning skills therapy focuses on developing the mental processes that help people plan, organize, initiate, manage, and complete tasks effectively. It is commonly used for individuals with ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, or difficulties with daily living and academic performance.

What Are Executive Functions?

Executive functions are the brain's "management skills" that help a person:

  • Plan and prioritize tasks

  • Organize materials and information

  • Manage time effectively

  • Start tasks independently

  • Stay focused and avoid distractions

  • Remember instructions and information (working memory)

  • Control impulses and emotions

  • Adapt to changes and solve problems

  • Monitor and evaluate their own performance

Above all, we aim to create a safe place where you can be who you are and be treated with positive regard, acceptance, and integrity.

“There needs to be a lot more emphasis on what a child can do instead of what they cannot do.”
